June Lawncare tips
June Lawn Care Tips for a Healthier Yard This Summer
June in Texas brings longer days, hotter temps, and fast-growing grass. Here’s how to keep your lawn healthy and looking sharp this month:
1. Mow High, Mow Often
Set your mower blades a bit higher to help grass retain moisture and shade its roots. Aim to mow once a week to keep it clean without stressing the turf.
2. Water Early & Deep
Water in the early morning before 9 a.m. and make sure you’re soaking down to the roots—1 to 1.5 inches per week is ideal.
3. Watch for Weeds & Pests
Weeds love the heat too. Spot-treat trouble areas, and keep an eye out for chinch bugs and other pests.
4. Mulch & Edge
A fresh mulch layer keeps soil cool and helps retain moisture. Clean edges around flowerbeds and sidewalks make everything pop.
5. Book Seasonal Services Early

April Lawn Care Tips
April in Brazoria County means spring is officially in full swing—and so is your lawn! With warmer temps and more rain, this is the time of year your grass starts waking up and growing fast. Here’s how to stay ahead of the game and keep your yard looking its best this month.
1. Start Mowing Regularly
By now, St. Augustine, Bermuda, and Zoysia lawns are all actively growing. Set your mower blades high to avoid scalping, and plan to mow weekly. Don’t remove more than 1/3 of the grass height at a time—this helps prevent stress.
2. Fertilize Wisely
April is a great month to apply a slow-release fertilizer if you haven’t already. Make sure you’re using the right kind for your grass type. Too much nitrogen too early can lead to rapid growth and disease, especially with our humid Gulf Coast climate.
3. Watch for Weeds
Weeds love this weather, too. If you’re seeing clover, dollarweed, or dandelions popping up, spot treat with a post-emergent weed killer. Be cautious with herbicides on newly green lawns—follow label directions closely.
4. Water Efficiently
Most lawns need about 1 inch of water per week, including rain. Deep, infrequent watering helps encourage deep root growth. Early morning is best—avoid watering in the evening to prevent disease.
5. Edge & Trim for Clean Lines
Crisp edges around sidewalks, flower beds, and driveways give your lawn a polished, professional look. It’s a small detail that makes a big difference.
6. Mulch & Flowerbeds
Spring is also the perfect time to refresh mulch and clean up flowerbeds. A fresh layer not only looks good—it helps retain moisture and suppress weeds.
